The merit badge program includes over 120 different areas of knowledge and skills. Participation in earning merit badges can start as soon as a scout joins a troop. The only limitations are his ambition and availability of adult counselors to offer instruction. Click on the title of the merit badge to link to its requirements and some resources.

Eagle Required Merit Badges

Required Badges: A scout can start earning merit badges as soon as he joins a troop, but no merit badges are required for advancement until after First Class rank. Star, Life, and Eagle ranks all require completion of merit badges, service, and leadership. Eagle rank requires completion of at least 21 merit badges, 12 of which come from the Eagle-required merit badge list above.
